New location for fourth annual Wheels of Dreams | NONPROFIT REGISTER

News: The Hangar Club in Denver’s Lowry neighborhood is the setting for the fourth annual Wheels of Dreams, an Aug. 3 fundraiser for Bags of Fun, a program of the Gabby Krause Foundation.

Bags of Fun is a living memorial to Gabby Krause, who lost her life to brain cancer. As she made a valiant effort to survive, Gabby found an escape from her pain through the power of play. Her mother established the Gabby Krause Foundation in 2004 to provide Bags of Fun to children battling long-term or life-threatening illnesses.

The bags are tailored to each recipient and contain games, toys, books and other items that bring joy and distraction from the hospital setting.

Wheels of Dreams is presented by AvidLifestyle and Colorado AvidGolfer magazines.

It is a multi-faceted event for those 21 and over. It runs from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Hangar Club, 7600 E. 1st Place, Denver. Tickets are $125 each or $250 per couple and can be purchased by visiting bagsoffun.org

Culinary stations will feature food and libations from Hickory House Ribs, Blue Island Oyster Bar & Seafood, Ornery Olive, Toastique, Mile High Appliance, Enstrom Candy, Fogo de Chao, Seasons 52, Breckenridge Distillery, Stella Artois and more.

Guests will be able to relax in lounges created by Howard Lorton Furniture and Design, Kim Layne Interiors and others; enjoy music by Spinphony; test their golfing prowess in top-flight simulators and take a chance in the champagne diamond giveaway sponsored by Trice Jewelers.

About the organization: Founded in 2004 by Tammy Krause as a living memorial to her daughter, Gabby, the Gabby Krause Foundation, dba Bags of Fun, distributes custom-tailored Bags of Fun to children fighting a long-term or life-threatening illness. Since its start, the foundation has fulfilled every request from participating hospitals in Colorado, Kansas City and Omaha. It relies on donations, fundraisers and volunteers to meet the demand.
