Latkes and Lights celebration to take place on Sunday | NONPROFIT REGISTER

News: The family-oriented Latkes and Lights Hanukkah Celebration begins at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center, 350 S. Dahlia St., Denver.
Festivities include two latke-making competitions, one where home cooks will craft the holiday staples and another where chefs from Denver restaurants that include KeepSake Colorado, Latke Love, Leven Deli Co., Rosenberg’s, Safta and Zaidy’s will go head-to-head for the best-in-city title.
Judges will be 9News meteorologist Chris Bianchi, food blogger Kristina Vasquez, Colorado Public Radio host Ryan Warner and state Rep. Steven Woodrow.
In addition, there will be a craft fair, where local vendors will sell ceramics, prints, paintings, jewelry, sewn goods and other gift items; a sampling and sale of fresh pita, olive oil and Jewish baked goods from Luisa Hagemeier, owner of Challahrado Hearth; a photo booth; Hanukkah games; and, Klezmer music.
Tickets are on a sliding scale basis and range in price from $10 to $18 per ticket for individuals and $40 to $72 for family four-packs. They can be purchased by visiting jccdenver.org/portfolio-items/latkes-and-lights/
Hanukkah 2023 runs from Dec. 7-15.
