Bennet launches first Iowa TV ad

“Truth”

Don’t tell Michael Bennet the pundits say he’s the longest shot for the White House, because his back-of-the-pack campaign is launching its first TV ads in Iowa.

Spokeswoman Shannon Beckham said in a statement that the campaign is spending seven figures on TV and digital spots in the Hawkeye State.

Bennet campaigned in Iowa last weekend, his 13th swing there this year. Still many question why he’s still in the race with his weak polling. He failed to qualify for the latest round of debates.

The Washington Post on Saturday ranked the Colorado senator 15th among Democrats with a good shot at taking on President Trump in next year’s race.

His team said Tuesday the new ads were “part of an integrated strategy, with digital, field and political efforts, to further focus resources on communicating directly with Iowa caucusgoers and win the nomination.”

The two ads are titled “Most” and “Truth,” designed to set Bennet apart from the crowded Democratic primary field.

“Everywhere Michael goes on the campaign trail, people walk away believing he is the leader we need to make change, but not enough people have had the chance to meet him or learn what drives him,” Beckham said in the statement.
