Voters to quiz Democratic gubernatorial candidates
With the June 26 primary fast approaching, gubernatorial candidates are on a tour of forums to get their message out, fielding questions usually put forward by activists and reporters. Saturday, voters get a chance.
Democratic gubernatorial candidates Michael Johnston, Cary Kennedy, Lt. Gov. Donna Lynne and U.S. Rep. Jared Polis will field questions from an audience that’s expected to be about 300 people from noon to 2 p.m. at the Shorter Community AME Church at 3100 Richard Allen Court in Denver.
The forum is being put on by Service Employees International Union Local 105, Colorado People’s Action and the Working Families Party of Colorado.
The questions are expected to focus on such issues as “economic justice, racial justice, the impacts of climate change on the workforce and Colorado governance.” the organizers tell us.
The Rev. Timothy Tyler, the pastor at Shorter AME, will host the discussion.
